OK, these are not that great but it was the best I could do standing in the carpark at work hand holding a welding glass and my filters stacked in front of the lens. Don't ask me what grad number equivalent that is because I don't know, a lot that is for sure!

This one is before. I couldn't do anything about the haze around the sun, it may be because I was just hand holding 7 filters in front of the lens. Notice the sun flair to the right. It is larger because I got a better focus on the sun so could crop in more.

this is the one of the actual eclipse, I did not do so well with the focus on this one so could not crop it as heavily. Plus I couldn't bring out any detail like the first shot either. Frustrating, but the best I could do with what I had at the time.

I had not planned on even taking any shots, that is why I was not set up properly. But you know how it goes, I decided (too late) to actually try and capture it. Never mind, there will be another one in 2028. I just have to live that long hahaha

Looks like you got a more complete cover than we did in southern Queensland STIC, you managed to get yours sharper as well.

Glad you like them Rick, I guess the colours are mainly caused by the filters we used - I had a fair stack going haha. I just wish I had decided to shoot it and actually set up properly! They told us we wouldn't see much so I didn't really bother, then when it was just about to start I changed my mind :o

Yeah...I almost didn't bother either, as the sky was completely cloudy...

But, seeing as i wasn't doing anything else, i took my welding glass out about midway through and had a look...exclaimed '****', ran inside and quickly set up the camera and tripod...;)

My original images were pure black and green...took the green tint off in photoshop...
