Just wondered what people thought of these few images. I have a competition coming up and all photos have to be taken in a specific location, but don't have to be any one topic.

Any thoughts on these images would be appreciated. :)

Not so sure about number 1,but I think 2 and 3 are great.

They have a real gritty Yorkshire atmosphere to them!

Thanks. What is it you don't like about number 1? Just wondered as there may be a few in the competition like 2 and 3...whereas 1 will be unique for sure. :)

Cheers

i like #1 best, but it would be hard to tag it to any location for that contest

I like them all; but if the shot needs to be taken in a specific location, I'd have to go with number 3, as it's the most identifiable. The other two don't appear to show a unique location, they could be anywhere.

Also, without the deer in the frame on #1, I wouldn't name the shot that way, as it isn't concrete what is out of the frame. That said, from an interest standpoint, 1 is my favorite followed by 3. 2 is a bit dark and more monotone than the others.

It doesn't even have to depict that location to be honest, but the people of my club, having all been thereto take their photos will identify with that location anyway. People will (I know) enter pictures of flowers taken in the village - there would be no way of verifying that (as no one I know uses geotagging in the club)...but we trust them. :)

Thanks. Again, the people who will be looking and judging this will recognise these places...the down side to the third is that it may well have been photographed by others as it's a bit of a landmark pub...the other two less so. That's the weighing up I have to do. :)

Cheers

Given those things, I'd be tempted to go with number 1. Whichever way you go, good luck! :)

Thank you. I think I will. I may have to rethink the Pub image as Ruby (TinyTogger in the first picture) has a lovely shot of the pub that she wants to enter. :/

#1 for me
Maybe a tighter crop putting Ruby further to the right and to ring more focus to her.

Thanks. She's actually in the golden position, but it could work with her a little further onto a 1/3 line. :)

Cheers

Great shots, number 3 is my pick but also number 1. It conveys more feeling to me than the other 2. It has that certain something that makes it rather special.

That'd be my daughter! ;)

Seriously, thanks. I like that one too, for other reasons than the fact that it's Ruby in it, although that makes the picture for me. :)

Cheers
