Just like to get your comments on a couple of photos. These shots were taken on the Bonneville Salt Flats in Utah after a rain storm. Reflections are real.

SUPERB!
I don't think you could have done anything more to make these poster shots.

ps---- in a perfect world it would have been a burnt orange paint job. Cream would've been about 4th on my colour preference for that scene, that light.

----------and a big welcome to POTN! Fantastic first post or what!!

The shots were actually done during sunset and well after sunset. Some of the shots were 30 seconds on a tripod. I did have problems with the reflections of the water ripples on some of the longer shots.

Also it was a fairly overcast day.

By the time we made the 1.5 hr drive to the salt flats and saw that the flats were flooded we just about turned around and went back home. We decided to walk out into the water and the salt turned out to be still hard as concrete and the water was only about 1.5" deep for miles and miles so we decided to take the car out. Obviously had to wash the salt from the undercarriage very well afterword.

There's hardly any reflections on the Cuda's sides. Salt flats must be fantastic in that way.
I just had a reflections hassle on the weekend with the Cutless 88 shots.
Do you have a favorite-favored location for your shoots or just go where the car is?
Maybe this a booked/planned shoot for a magazine assignment?

Actually there is a rest area just off of I-80 about 5 miles before the Utah/Nevada border that I pull the cars off onto the slat flats from.

Your right though. The Slat flats are an incredible place to shoot. You would think that the backdrop would be the same everytime and would be very boring but i am amazed at how different each shoot turns out there.

Most of my gallery is shot with a Canon 10d and various lenses. I probably use the 24-70 2.8l and the 70-200 2.8l IS the most. Some of the later shoots (durango, 300c, neon, silver crossfire) have been with a Canon 1ds and 85 1.2l.

The gallery has some absolute stunners too.
Saw a lot more salt flats.
The location in the Chevy section for the Corvette etc is great too. The car shots that have gloss red cars (mustang, belvedere etc) are probably hardest to compose... or is it the black ones?
