Since college is out for the holiday season, I had a chance to railfan in Christiansburg, VA on the Norfolk Southern Virginia Division and try out my new scanner. Traffic was slow in the morning due to MOW and NS 147 going into emergency due to a broken coupler and blocking the track for the majority of the day.

-NS 147 finally got on the move around 1:30-2:00p.m. after going into emergency that morning. NS 147 as it crosses under the coaling tower at Vicker.

Also had the chance to go to the NS Lambert's Point Yard in Norfolk, VA for my job and get a guided tour of their facility. Photos were taken with Kodak P&S at Lambert's Point.

Darn nice shots! I've never seen two slugs behind an engine before. Very cool catch!

A great set of images. The SD70 image is striking. And thanks for the industrial shot of the coaling pier.

Thanks for the compliment.
The first three photos of the Christiansburg area were taken with 20D with 70-200mm f4L lens. The second two of the Norfolk Yard were taken with my Kodak P&S. All photographs are post-processed in Adobe Photoshop CS2.
