Help me decide on indoor sports lens

Wow! What happened to that market? I sold my 200 2.8L II almost two years ago. I got $700 for it the same day I posted it on Craigslist. For $540 (best price right now on POTN Sell forum) this lens become a lot more attractive. Personally, I'll stick with the zoom.

I had a 135L that I bought used and sold 13 months later for $50 more than I paid for it. That price on the 200 2.8L is surprising.

Yes,the price on the 200 2.8 L used is criminally low right now. I snagged a like-new mkii off if EBay for $520 w/shipping, then picked off a NIB Canon hood for it for another $10. A Mk i just sold on ebay for $500 out the door with case included.

I considered getting a sigma 70-200 2.8 or even an old Canon 80-200 2.8 but I really like the quality my 100/2 gives me at that range. Swapping glass during a football game isn't convenient, but it is worth it for the results.

If and when I move up from the 200 2.8, it would probably be for a Canon 70-200 2.8 is Mk ii, or even a 300 or 400 2.8 prime. But right now as a sports shooter on a budget,a used 200 2.8 prime is a major value.

I wonder if that is a market response to all the 70-200 aftermarket lenses on the market in the last few years.
