Was lovely to watch this one peep out of it's den across the stream and make eye contact :)

And to top it all, this was shot pretty much in the midst of San francisco. The Golden gate park sure is a haven in the midst of the concrete jungle!

C&C sought.

Cheers,

I like it a lot, and find that the black and white really brings out the emotion of the photo.

They sure are cute little critters. :)

You can have all of ours. :D

At some point, we used to have a procession of 15-17 of those "cute little critters" of all age groups march through our backyard (a common shared between 4 houses) every evening. It looked like the Empire did strike back. And they would try to break into our house, steal things from the deck, overturn garbage containers, once even sneaked onto a neighbor's deck and stole a piece of BBQ chicken in the middle of a party. They are not afraid of people a single bit, and may attack if they feel cornered. Took me and one of my neighbors about two months to catch them all in live traps and relocate to state park.

Oh don't get me wrong...we have our own problems with them up here in Toronto. :) That includes the one which got into our roof...lol

Cute is one thing...a desire to have more of them...well...lol

Thank you everyone :)
I've heard from a lot of folks that these can become pests, but to me it was nice to watch them up close and for the first time too

Thank you Spinner and hogger :)
The colors were subdued and the presence of a lot of shadows made me think of a B&W
