Never thought I'd hear this, some folks were talking about the number of hawks in the area actually outnumbering the crows. I must be in heaven. Here are some shots, some are very heavily cropped.

The rough-legged hawk is a lifer to me.

If I don't get the shots I want with the gear I have, the only optics I need to examine is the mirror on the bathroom wall. The root cause will be there.

You have some wonderful IQ here, Jo. I was going like 'wow' and 'oh my...' when viewing the images. This is a great set, and I'm so happy for you that you are in raptor heaven now! :) Also, big congrats on the lifer.

All great shots, and I especially like #2, 6 and 8. The exposure between #2 and #3 seems a bit different. Were you using a semi-auto mode or did you adjust in post differently?

Good for you, Jo; great shots all around and congrats on the Rough-leg. We get quite a few coming through here, though I have not seen a lot this year.

Thanks, the difference are probably because of different ISO, I did played around with the modes because I was anticipating the falcon will fly, catch and prey, and go back to this perch. And like most of the time, I was wrong :)

Thanks Mike, I know, this is your favorite hang out for harriers :)

Have you tried going into the marshes to get some shots of the snowy owls? I'm wondering how far they are from the dyke.

Fantastic set, Jo. All very sharp. great light. I was up there on dark Tuesday, this week. Saw one snowy owl at Reifel and eight at Boundary Bay. They were all way out by the water's edge and one was on a stick out in the water. Yes, lots of raptors.
