I've always used a speedlite and lately while takign some family photos realized the pop up flash doesnt come up when needed... I cant even select it within the menu assuming I'm going to the right spots. Thoughts?

gonzogolf dumb remark memorialized More info | Nov 16, 2012 11:59 | #2 Yup, this is a common problem. Below the rail of your hotshoe there is a little microswitch. Chances are its stuck and your camera thinks there is already a flash mounted. Just use a paperclip to depress it slightly up and down to unstick it. Should take care of the problem

It will happen to that camera, too. I keep a toothpick in my bag for just such occasions.
