I saw 9 snowy owls, the other day. But none close enough to shoot. Apparently we are having another irruption, called a echo irruption. Since I couldn't get a shot, I went to my archives from last year. Hope you enjoy.
Thanks, Rex

Cool!
Some even made into Texas last year, hopefully some will again.

Very nice shots too, by the way, and thanks for letting us know.

Bad for the owls, but good for us. BTW, it is an irruption, nothing to do with magma.

Al, duh. Thanks. There will be plenty more where that came from. Old age. Wish I could change the title.

Great images, I am hoping a few make the trip from Canada to New York this season.
I am also looking forward to some Evening Grosbeaks.
I heard the food supply crop wasn't the best this year up in Canada. :(

Thank you and you're welcome, Eric. I saw them at Reifel and Boundary Bay. They are also in Seattle. Sequim, Edmonds, Everett, Nisqually NWR, Damon Pt., Stanwood, Port Townsend, Tacoma, Lake City and not counting eastern Wa.
Thank you, Shawn. I hope you get a chance with the owls and grosbeaks.
Rex

Thanks Rex; just wondering where the numbers are the best this time around. :)

Wow, to see not just 1 of these beauties but 9! We had a Snowy Owl here, just one, a stray, at one of our little northern islands some two years ago I think it was. Every birder in the country traveled there to see it. It made the evening news! How lucky you are, Rex. I'm sure you will get other opportunities to shoot them later in the season and in the mean time these shots from last year are also wonderful!

Eric, I heard 3 at Damon Pt. I don't think it has all settled out, yet. But many seem to be going back to the same areas.
Thanks, Levina, maybe you'll get lucky and they'll come down, again.
Rex

Nice Job of capturing two snowies in one image. I saw one out at my daughters farm but with murphys involvement if I pulled the camera out every owl within 2 miles would disappear.

Beautiful! I've only been fortunate enough to see a Great Horned in San Diego.
