So these are self-portrait / self-wedding pics I took after my wedding, some of the first pictures I ever took in my life, first camera, a 50D and 24-105 f4L.

Terrible blocked up shadows, grain, blown highlights, crooked horizons......ughhhh!!

However I feel like the compositions were a little more creative and I took more liberty in creating mood with the exposure rather than just trying to make a well balanced dynamic range.

Also I think being ignorant of many technical factors of photography led me to focus more on the content of the picture, such as in the 'life is good' picture.

Jump ahead to nowadays with my 5DmkII and using various primes, zooms, zeiss MF lenses etc.

And my photos have great sharpness and well balanced dynamic ranges. They aren't very interesting though, I actually like my old technically crappy jpeg photos better from a creative standpoint.

My new years resolution might end up being to stop taking such 'technically correct' photos and try to break the rut of making 'correct' pictures.

For wedding shots, I don't care much for the choice of locations in 2 & 3, but I like the rich colors & feeling of the shots.

I too have made some progress in my photography skills since my wedding, .... but it's been decades and decades
