...is worth the time and money.
I started doing commercial photography in the late '60s and got back into the craft using digital about 10 years ago.
In between I had a career in telecommunications that including writing and delivering hundreds of technology seminars ranging from 4 hours to 6 weeks.
I know my way around lighting. That said, I've gone to the McNalley/Hobby event and other seminars.
I spent today at Syl Arena's Speedliter Intensive here in Chicago.
It was a day well spent. Regardless how much one thinks they know, there is always something new, or at the least reminders of things that are collecting cobwebs in the back of our brain.
Syl is a great speaker, engaging, takes the time to answer questions, and he knows his stuff. The program is designed to make a neophyte comfortable with speedlites and off camera flash.
And he has insights and observations that even the most experienced will find useful. And his banter and style make the review of the basics engaging and entertaining.
If he's coming to your city make the investment. You'll have fun, and learn something you didn't realize you've forgotten.
(I have nothing to do with Syl, other than having enjoyed his seminar.)
