If I don't get the shots I want with the gear I have, the only optics I need to examine is the mirror on the bathroom wall. The root cause will be there.

Those are all really nice shots. I really like the intensity of the second one.

Wow! Close is right! Terrific job with these.
I can never get close to the hoodies I see, they are always way too skittish.

Great close-ups Mike! It's my favourite duck, and like Phil, have only been able to get moderately close.

Did you hypnotize him so you could get so close? heheheh

That is, without a doubt, the best Hoodie I have seen, EVER!
No lie, those are not only beautiful shots, which shows your skills, I have no idea how you got so close.
I can't get within 40 feet of any of them, I have tried for two seasons.

Thank you very much for your kind comments everyone, they are very appreciated! I'm glad you like the shots! Unfortunately hypnosis and skill weren't as involved in these as I would have liked. After fighting very poor lighting conditions and a lack of subject matter for quite some time that day, another bird photographer friend and I decided to take a quick walk through the waterfowl viewing enclosure at the wildlife sanctuary, which is where we found this handsome model. I think that was the second time I'd gone through there this year, and the only time we've actually cheated and photographed the birds in there. We normally prefer to find them in the wild.
