Hi everyone,

I posted this set in the people section a few days ago, but have not received much feedback. Although it does show people, I guess it more performing art related, so I am hoping i would some feedback and CC here.

I would love any advice, comments.

This is the post:

I have just returned from a trip to Spain and whilst there had the pleasure of enjoying an authentic flamenco show by genuine gypsies in Granada. The show was one of the most passionate expressions of dance and culture I have ever experienced.

These two photos I hope, have captured the same feeling of passion, movement and breathtaking and profound beauty of Flamenco that I enjoyed.

These two shots were taken hand held with a very narrow aperture and relatively slow shutter speed in order to portray the atmosphere of the performance. I have also done some post editing where I have added a multiplied mask and further burn mask.

I'd like to know what you think and whether you agree or not if the photos portray the Spirit of the dance.

Cheers,

NicholasBB

I like them.
From the motion blur (which IMO adds to the images) it looks like you had little light to work with?

Nice atmosphere. :)

Thanks Gents,

I am happy for your feedback. Yes, there was limited light at the Venue, but more difficult than that was the size of the venue. it was very cramped in there. I am glad you mentioned the motion blur, as that was one aspect of the images I wanted to include, the hard part though, was being able to capture some resemblance of the subjects face and have some motion blur of their body at the same time. I guess it was all timing and I got lucky. Finally thank god for AUTO ISO SELECTION. Was using a Canon 5D MarkII and 24-105 lens for these shots.

I really fast prime wide angle lens is on my wish list!

Thanks,

NicholasBB

Not only limited light, but it looks really tight in that space. Well done for getting a decent capture in such hard conditions!
