Went out for a quick ride tonight, and grab a few shots.

I can't do black and white conversions to save my life. Is there anyone here that can convert this, so I can see what it looks like. Let me know what you do.

Nice shot, only a horse lover would understand. My daughter has a horse and loves him more than anything. It's her 3rd or 4th horse I've lost count. She keeps out growing them, she won't out grow the one she has now though. He's just shy of 18 hands! Anyway I don't care for black and white,It's all there was when I was a kid! Never really cared for it then either.

Quick & dirty/. I just used desaturate under adjustments in photoshop, adjusted levels to suit my eye, dodged the horse a bit, and did an overall contrast adjustment. I always have to work with these a fair bit and just use personal taste for the end result.

That is a touching shot. I like BOTH versions. Lovely B/W conversion but also just enough subtle colour in the original. Great work all.

Got stuff ;)

Thanks for the edit. I use cs5 and do the black and white with all the color sliders. Then come back and do brightness and contrast, but it just always seems to flat to me. When I get home ill do it and post for comparison.

She loves her horse, that's for sure. This is her third also. Not quite 18, she's only 12. Her others were larger and it made her uncomfortable. Might have something to do with her falling off when she was younger. We have 6 acres with 2 on it, but she's being boarded down the street so Paige and her can train.
