Hi,

Finally did a test with my 5D3 and the Sigma 70-200 2.8 OS
I always thought that this one looked a little soft, despite all the glowing recommendations on this forum...

Sure enough - front focusing. Had to dial in +6

Question, the "per lens" setting (don't remember the exact verbage)

With Microfocus adjust on, and set to individual lenses, the setting applies ONLY to that particular lens when mounted, correct?

So, with the 24-105 the body will use the default "0" correct?

Also, I noticed that it did not identify the Sigma other than being "70-200"
I'm also assuming that only the Canon lenses are completely identified by the camera, correct?

thanks!

thats certainly the case with the 7D

it can also identify if you are M.adjusting involving a 1.4 or 2x T.C.

I think from memory, it can recall the MA on up to 20 lenses/combo's

My Tokina 11-16 identifies as 11-16 only

the canon ones display the lens. eg EF100 2.8 IS USM

Yes, it is by lens, and lens only. I can't answer for what happens if you have two different third party lenses with the same focal length range, but other than that it seems (from what I've seen on my body) to work well. It will only identify my Tamron 70-300 as "70-300" on screen, but I don't have other 70-300s to test with to see if there's a collision.

16-35mm f/2.8 L II, 50mm f/1.4, 100mm f/2.8 IS L, Tamron 70-300mm f/4-5.6
