Challenge #407 - FLIGHT
_______________

This week, the subject can be anything that flies, as long as it is airborne in the photo. Anything, be it man made, or living, is a fair subject.
_______________

This week yielded a real variety of pics to choose from, and a couple rather loose interpretations to boot! ( Kevan, you're getting some competition! :-) ) I apologize to you all for being brief, but I am on the run and this is about what I can squeeze in at the moment.

THIRD PLACE-MRSHOBDEN-FLYING FIREWORK COMET-A very striking shot, Linda! Fireworks can be tough to shoot, and I'd say you nailed this one perfectly!

SECOND PLACE-KEVAN-BATS OUT OF AUSTIN-A beautiful shot, with several elements contributing to the overall effect. Even with all the combined elements, my eye is still drawn immediately to the clouds of bats. Well done!

FIRST PLACE-RIVEREDGER-ON THE HACKENSACK RIVER-I loved this shot from the moment you posted it! The only thing I would change is to either clone, or more likely crop out the wing tip on the left, and the half bird on the right. They really contribute nothing to the photo, and are a minor distraction. Otherwise, this looks like something Terry Redlin might have painted.

I also want to mention Raven's flying pig and pwdieter's bird taking flight...both excellent shots! The G-Series cameras, with their inherent shutter lag, are not the best tool in the shed when it comes to catching action and keeping the subject sharp. You all have proved that it can be done, and done well! My thanks to all of you for your entries this week.

To submit, click Post Reply and put your Photo Name in the Subject Line. Don't forget your Camera Model.

Post until Monday noon GMT, 26 November 2012.
