Here where I live (35 miles south of Atlanta) we didn't have any snow last year, and none so far this year. I'm pretty much used to the "cold" weather we have in the winters. A typical winter day is about 55/35, but we will have many days in the 60s in all winter months.
A brutal week for us will be highs in the low 40s or upper 30s and lows in the teens, but that's pretty rare. Today was 57. That's easy. Our nights lately have been in the 30s. Not really a problem.
Global warming, if real, is showing here. Winters are getting milder each year. Summers are the same: hot and humid as hell, but I'll take it over the cold.
The good thing about living in Atlanta is that you can get to a warm beach in florida in half a day driving. And in the summer the mountains are cool once the sun sets in the summer.
It was about -26C (-15F) here on Christmas day and tonight (11:00 PM) it's 0C (32F)! Within the same month we can have a day where it's +10C (50F) and one where it's -40C (-40F).
