Statement holds true. :p

I had one in 2011 and did like it. Once the higher MP systems came out that could match the ISO performance and "beat" the DR performance I forgot all about it.

That's the camera to dream about! I want a low MP with everything else pro :p and D4 is too expensive.

Hehe! Thanks. That's actually a good idea. It will definitely help with your decision.

The local store rents D800s, so I hope they have it for the weekend (I need to check with work to make sure I have the days off to make the rent worthwhile); it's OSU's graduation, so it's kind of a big event...

Kind of off topic, but have you traveled to SE Asia? If you, did you feel safe if lugging around camera equipment?

Naw! I might have to trade my d600 for one though! LOL. Still wondering a bit if nikon will release a d400. I'd hardly think there is room for it as the specs for the 7100 are pretty darn good.

They'll want to eventually release a D7100 like camera with a D800 body and bigger buffer. Canon will release the 7D2 and Nikon the D400 in the fall. They'll be similar.

I had to buy mine for $5K. I guess if you could get it for half of that it wouldn't be so bad.

Anyone interested in buying a 7100, sb-700, 70-300, 18-105, IR remote a few other odds and ends?

Just considering thinking I want to go another route.

I haven't travelled to SE Asia yet. If I did, everything would be insured and gear would be the bare minimum.

Myboostedgts No, I like it but my body & my chronic pain has limited my ability to shoot and I can't justify keeping it.
