I have one very primitive question, but can't find good answers.
I have Nikon P310 camera which has a standard 1/2.3 sensor and can shoot up to 16 mb pictures. I read somewhere that pictures would be better if I'd shoot just 8 mb pictures (that's what I do). However, I am not really sure, because I take mostly day pictures of urban landscape. What would the right thing to do?

I looked up your camera and it looks like the only format supported is jpeg. I would shoot at higher res or jpeg large to get the most resolution with your p&s. I'm even impressed that it opens up at f 1.8. :)

Got my Zeiss 50mm Planar today. I'll do some real shooting with it when I get some time, but here is one of the few test shots I took from around the house. I thought it was kinda funny.

i am drooling i have been trying for the better part of two years to get good shots of barn swallows and wow my friend you have done an amazing job. i think firstly my issue has been trying to shot them on a 7d with only a 70-200 siggy 2.8 os no TC and ive just havent been in my prime when trying the back issues have been on going for 7.5 years and just gotten worse and when they return this year i will not be in the running for even trying to snap some shots of them.

so sir i am both commending you and telling you i am jealous of your awesome captures here :)

so i get to live vicariously through you guys and i especially love the bird shots please keep them coming so i can enjoy them and find some happiness through these tough times.

thanks for the photo inspirations folks it means more to me then i can really put into words!

One of the otters in our river. These guys are really quite big. About the size of a medium dog. He was sniffing at me.

This was my previous attempt at a Barn Swallow sitting under a bridge at that same river.

The pics were taken with my D800E + 1.7xTC + 200 f/2. All are heavy crops.

A couple more from yesterday.

A lot of great shots here. Really like those bluebird photos!

I had a little welding project to do and since I never shot any welding before, I though it would be a good time to experiment. So, I set up my tripod and my D600 to a 20 second timer and here's what I came up with.

It would be MUCH easier shooting someone else while they are welding, but you gotta do what you gotta do :)

Shot with a D600 and Nikkor 105mm F2.5 lens.

Not sure what kind of birds these are. But they sure were talking like crazy!
