Cool yellow headed blackbird. That's a bit rare around here, never seen one.

Tried D600 today. The grip is super small and uncomfortable, almost feels "boney" :( D800 feels really nice though $$$$

I agree, both the D600 and D7/100 are very good cameras. The problem for me is that after owning the D1h and D200, and using the majority of the other bodies in that category....it makes those feel 'cheap' to the touch. Not LITERALLY like terrible cheap of course, but they don't have the same material feel that I LOVE about those others.

The only other thing that would take me a while to get used to is the overall size of the camera. They're kinda on the small side in my hands (D7xxx more than 600), though it's not alarmingly D40 small lol.

Solid cameras though, just wish they had a little more of that sexy feeling of the D200/300 mostly. Good prices on them too!

Is it the softer rubber you guys like. ;)

I'm not much of a fan of the D7000 grip but with the new style grip which started with the D800, I really like the D7100 version even if it is smaller.

Cat on a leash? Can't say I've seen that before! ;)

If I don't get the shots I want with the gear I have, the only optics I need to examine is the mirror on the bathroom wall. The root cause will be there.

I've seen that two times. One just in the street, but one time just seconds before the person holding the leash was viciously attacked by that cat...

I agree but went with a D600 anyway. For me, it's a compromise but I get the advtange of the samller size and it's lighter. It's not really the size of the grip that was less comfortable. They could have improved it a lot without changing the size much if at all. It is just that the grip itself has a sharper angle both at the front and from the top part of it. They could have angled it differnetly, more curvy, without changing the size and IMO it would have been better. Still got used to it pretty quickly.

That's how the grip use to be. They made a rather major change to it with this round of bodies. People tend to love it or hate it.

Man I found a D600 24-85 open box deal for 2000. Should I jump? I'm worried it won't be the D700 I used to have :D

That's what they sold for over the holidays.

If I were buying a D600 now I'd probably get this:
