The problem for me is that after owning the D1h and D200, and using the majority of the other bodies in that category....it makes those feel 'cheap' to the touch. Not LITERALLY like terrible cheap of course, but they don't have the same material feel that I LOVE about those others. For me, it's a compromise but I get the advtange of the samller size and it's lighter. It's not really the size of the grip that was less comfortable. They could have improved it a lot without changing the size much if at all. It is just that the grip itself has a sharper angle both at the front and from the top part of it. They could have angled it differnetly, more curvy, without changing the size and IMO it would have been better. Still got used to it pretty quickly.

They made a rather major change to it with this round of bodies. People tend to love it or hate it.
