smythie I wasn't even trying More info | Aug 22, 2013 08:22 | #4322 Looks good but I think the colour shows off the lens and model a bit better personally. To me, the B&W looks like it came from just about any other lens

Anyone buy refurb and still manage to avoid it? For those who have experienced it, does it really go away after roughly X shutter actuations? Nikon D610, D5100

DTBaan "The title fairy does not exist" More info | Aug 24, 2013 02:50 | #4329 this reply maybe is useless to you because I don't own a d600 or have any answers to your lens concerns. what I can tell you is that I have a d800 that has a later date and had oil splats on it after so and so actuations so it had to be cleaned. after that I added 1k+ on it and it seems fine for now, i'm sure I can expect more oil though. brettjrob wrote in post #16235140 General question for D600 owners: how were you able to track down one without the oil spot issue? Anyone buy refurb and still manage to avoid it? For those who have experienced it, does it really go away after roughly X shutter actuations? I'm >< this close to offloading my entire Canon collection and going with a D600, 18-35G, and used 80-200 f/2.8. But I'll be looking for a refurb body, so that the proceeds from selling my 6D will at least come close to covering it entirely. I saw the Adorama deal at $1599 for the refurb kit a few days ago but passed it up. I'd just hate to get one of the oily bodies that's so bad you have to clean it every 50 actuations to keep f/8 and smaller usable. Also, if anyone has any opinions on the new 18-35G or the older 80-200 f/2.8, let's hear 'em. Based on my preliminary research, the 18-35G should be sharper in the corners than my 17-40L, which is a big draw for me. The 80-200 is more of a compromise to replace my 70-200 f/4L since Nikon has nothing equivalent below $1000 -- just want to make sure there aren't any glaring problems with it.

Nothing to comment on OPs post, but on the above I have to say, that, couple of days after owning a Nikon I found the buttons, right, in place they should be. Settings are simpler to understand what they aim to do/change. Better ISO compare to which? the D800 sensor is like a frying pan (36MP!) and has great high ISO capabilities. Nikon has all lenses to do the job right nothing more nothing less. Better AF for Canon cannot comment on that, I was happy with the 5dii(center), 1dsiii, 1div, Im also happy with the D4.
