Sigh....this new Forum format is so hard to read and make sense of....and I don't think it'll be easy getting used to it.

I've only been testing the D750 so far with snap shots. Really liking the WB and skin tones. AF system definitely seems better than d600's, but not sure how much better yet. Here are a few from today:

^Nice bokeh...is that taken with the sigma 150 macro?

Thanks. Didn't have the 150 on that trip. That was with the Nikon 24-85 AFD f/2.8-4.0 Nice flexible and sharp lens

I finally got the D810 and was finally able to test my lenses out. Haha.

Nice camera. Gotta get used to Nikon controls all over again. Time to breaks out the User Guide!

70-200VR2 is just as good as I remeber it was.

So far so good on the Sigma 50 art.

Liking the 85G 1.8.

24G is solid.

I'm on the other coast, so I'm not too familiar with that territory. I'd like to get out that way one day. I've always wanted to do a Jeep trip through the Moab.

I actually had to download the PDF manual on my phone for the D750 to find one or two things out while shooting.

What a good portrait prime? I had an 85 f/1.8 that I used on my 5D MKII. Would it be worth picking the Nikon one up? I see they have the 85 f/1.4 for a lot more. What about 3rd party? Are they worth purchasing?

The 1.8 Nikkor is a fine lens...whether AF or MF....the 1.4's rep is in it's bokeh....if you can find some samples THAT is what to look for.

Definitely going to have to read the manual. A lot of things look familiar since I used to shoot with a D3s/D3/D700. The D810 files are HUGE! LOL!!! Loving the resolution. My hard drive is screaming for mercy!

I find 85mm to be a great tight portrait prime. I bought the 85 1.8 G because I read some great reviews and it's much cheaper than the 1.4. I used to own the 1.4. Great lens. For now, I'll live with the 1.8 G. I never liked the Sigma 85 1.4. Focusing was unreliable.

Need to shoot a lot more to draw conclusions on my lenses.

Did you see my link to the procedure for accessing ISO and dedicating buttons to features using MY MENU?
