Was dragged on a 22km trek yesterday to the highest mountain in Australia and as the weather was potentially looking crap I took the D4 along

IMAGE: http://smythie.id.au/images/D4/Kosciuszko/_ATS8301_1024p.jpg

No tripod though so slow water shots took a bit to get critically sharp

The D4 was surprisingly comfortable to carry in the hand by the grip over the 8 hour hike. Can't say the A7r would have been anywhere near as comfortable actually.

Which edit do you prefer? My edit, or my tweaked VSCO filtered edit?

From my trusty rusty Nikon Coolpix P510 at full zoom with foggy cloudy skies.
Shot on auto mode.

Sweet. VSCO doesn't make a photo better :) Most of my non-photographer friends preferred the non-vsco one also!

Going back over some old photos of my Sigma 120-300 OS with the D4 following discussion about loose mounts in that thread. Found this shot where the flashes didn't fire

IMAGE: http://smythie.id.au/images/D4/_ATS6026_1024p_underex.jpg

+4.5 push, +35 Contrast, +60 Clarity, +25 Colour NR and a heap of sharpening (in Lightroom) later

IMAGE: http://smythie.id.au/images/D4/_ATS6026_1024p.jpg

Quite surprised how well this ISO 400 shot held up
