I currently have a Canon Rebel SLR with a 28-300 Tamron Zoom lens.
Could I, somehow use this same lens on the G3?

sorry dunno but i doubt it unless the lenses you have fit onto a thread as opposed to a canon-specific 'docking' port if you know what i mean. the lens on the g3 is fixed - the only things you can add are macro lenses, filters and the like - not anything like a whole new lens with its own focal length an'all.

hope this helps :)

even if you could, you'll ruin the camera... the G3 lens is much muchbeter optically than the tamrom extreme zoom lens.

You can add telephotos, wide, macro, filters, etc to the G3 without ruining the existing lens. Simply look for a 52 or 58mm Tube adapter for the G3 on ebay. Then you can pretty much get any 52mm/58mm lens and filters on it.

( btw if you are going to get a Polorized filter, get a circular one, since those work on auto-focus cameras, where linear is good if you are doing manual focus )
