Trying to take a photo of the NY skyline
I'm using a 5d3 and for some reason it's only allowing me to go as slow as 1/30th shutter speed. How do I get the 1/3/5/30 seconds that everyone else is getting?
I'm shooting in manual

Also, what's a good pano software to use. This is quite a wide skyline :-)

But hey, they say it's not the gear right:rolleyes:

The only reason I can think that it wouldn't let you go slower than 1/30th is that you have it in Video mode instead of live view mode. As for Pano I just use Photoshop it does great at Pano stitching.

Just keep going. 30 seconds is the max you can get in camera. There might be a custom function that limits it but I'm not aware of any.

Not sure why, but call me JJ.
I used to hate math but then I realised decimals have a point.

With an external shutter camera release; you can use Bulb to go to ~any shutter speed. If you're doing a skyline though; put it in M/AV or TN. My general opinion is that things aren't going to run away so take your time with M.

That's why I qualified with and "in camera". I guess you could use B and just keep your finger on the shutter button. :)

Are you confusing 1/30th with 30 seconds on the shutter speed dial?
