@ Aressem: Play a bit with your tone curve like this;

It's going to raise all your blacks.

He's exactly right, though I think my tone curve is a little more curved at the bottom.
Basically, clip your blacks like this and and push shadows/blacks/highlights around until the contrast is pleasing to you.

The colors are your own :)

Shutter speed: 1/50, you are good. I always get motion blur at such a low speed. I dont trust myself under 1/80 even with this lens.

Same here, so at low shutter speeds I usually do a 3-shot burst; there's a good chance one of 'em will be sharp :)

Please excuse my first post on THIS forum being the following simple question: just wondering if you have chosen to use a filter with THIS lens. mine will be here tomorrow. i've been shooting for a long time don't want to open a can of worms with this question. i am well aware that filters, even the best of them, degrade every single image. just wondering about THIS lens and YOUR preferences. thank you so much, in advance

Well, if it was something important, I might take more than three. ;)
And honestly, with this lens, I'll take a burst, turn the focus ring, let the AF focus again, and take three more. I still don't fully trust it when it comes to focusing correctly in low light.

@spalding12: Welcome on the forum and no, I dont use a filter. I have all the filters possible but now that we got softwares like LightRoom, I just dont see the need except maybe for a ND filter when there's too much light.

Like you say, it is going to degrade the IQ a bit and it's not what you want with this formidable lens.
