After reading through the vast majority of this thread I have ended up biting the bullet and buying this lens, now to wait for the few days it will take to arrive and see how much I will enjoy it

forgive me,

is this the lens everyone seems to compare to the 35L?

I had a dilemma between this lens and 35L. After looked at photos here, I decided to go with the Sigma. Now I need some cash :D.

These 35mm lenses seem to lend themselves to those letterbox-cinematic type photos, pretty cool.

If I get it, will be the same setup. How is the focusing with the camera, do you constantly have to adjust?

I haven't had to adjust any. Keep it in servo mode for action.

Guys, how is this lens for photographing moving subjects? Say if you want to photograph people on the street or when you photograph portraits, but the person is moving...how hard it is to get eyes perfectly in focus? I can tell that the lens is great when it comes to controlled environment, when you have a static object to photograph...more interested in dynamical images and how the lens delivers. thanks.

I've not had any trouble with action. Shot Offroad buggies with it. No issues tracking focus.

And I think one of the only ones wide open that I shot.

Im actually thinking about selling my 24-70 II to get one of these. This thing seems to give a lot of character to the shots.
