How fast is AF on this lens? Comparable to my 24-105 and 70-200 ?

Yes - and quieter than the 24-105 in my humble opinion, too. I hear a dull clank within the lens when the 24-105 focuses, like when it starts it's movement I hear this dull thudding sound inside it - hard to explain. Don't get me wrong - my 24-105 is pretty darn quiet, but the sigma is even more super-quiet and closer to silent than any other lens I have owned,

I really like the look this lens gives. I dont know if its the focal length or what but it just seems to work and is unique.

I dont get my pic taken very often, but Tara took a few of me last night with Avi and I collaged them.

So tonight someone is picking up my 70-300L, and I'll order the Sigma with that money. Hope it's worth the hype!

Yeah made up my mind. Should be picking up my Sigma tomorrow or tuesday at the latest. Very curious how it'll perform. I love the 70-300L and will always defend it on a crop, but my 70-200/F2.8 is just plain better for my uses, I hardly ever need more than 200mm (except on vacation, but that's not that often). And I do take a lot of indoor shots, especially of my kids. Should provide some nice wedding opportunies too.

What really pushed me over, was the fact that I had the NEX6 + Zeiss 24mm (35mm in effect), and I really love that focal length, especially on our trip to South-Africe where I paired the NEX6 to the 7D+70-300L. So I guess the Sigma should be at least as good on a fullframe. Sold the Zeiss to fund the 5DIII though.
