Just smiling. I have cup of coffee, laptop and my canon with Sigma 35 mm on my desk while looking at your picture.
Nice shoot btw!

Look there for more details. However, Ill give a more condensed version as I see it: the lens performance is good to great. Its not as snappy as many Canon L lenses, but in all honestly I dont really realize this while shooting. I only notice it when Im obsessing at home about these things. There are two groups. Those who thinks the focus is acceptable and those who have returned the lens and gone through 3- 4 copies, each one being "a bad copy" . The truth most likely (and in my experience) lies in the middle. It does miss on occasion. It will front or back focus at times in weird lighting. Never has this lost me the shot. I just just refocus and take another shot. I strongly suggest the dock as a $59 accessory if you get the lens. It makes an already great lens even better. Thanks for the feedback on the lens I will try a copy I have looked at 200 plus pages and at 1.4 it looks quite sharp indeed and I guess I will also invest in the dock since you can adjust the AF speed and update the firmware too. What body are you using the lens on? I will be using it on a 5D Mark II and 5D Mark III...

You cant adjust the AF speed of this lens, only the Sigma sport range. You can update firmware however (although my firmware was the latest when I bought mine and the dock didnt help here). What the dock did do however was cure all my focus gremlins and turn this lens in to my favourite lens (since sold my 50 and 85) Leica M11 | Leica Q2 | Sony α7RV
