Well I just pulled the trigger on this lens from Amazon thanks to all the awesome images in this thread. It's OOS right now but I hope they get it back in soon! Every other item I have ordered from them that has been OOS has shipped within a day or two.

Yeah, it's been a nice ride, but some of the big dogs will get this lens and start posting soon and our 15 minutes in the sun as "new lens pioneers" will be over and our homey snapshots will start to look...overly quaint;) Still, a lens like this is so good even I can look like I know what I'm doing--some of the time:)
