Sigma 35mm f/1.4 DG HSM

I shoot mostly subjects at 0.5 to 5 meters away.. newborn and portaits. And I find out it front focus alot..

I'd say using a Dock and setting focus adjustment at each of the steps would probably help you based on that information

I asked my daughter to strike a pose while I was setting up in the backyard to test out some stuff. Since I was still setting up, I didn't quite have the ambient exposure set correctly.

I love this lens.

Just got my copy. Loving it ! Quick self test. I also bought the dock. Will do a fine tuning later.

If all you know is what part of the image the lens/camera actually achieved focus on, there is no way you can make your statement with any type of logic.

You have a point...it's obvious the photo is out of focus though and I made an assumption based on a shot like this, the focus is normally placed on the eyes, but the focus is showing in front. I made an assumption, my bad.

OK guys. My bad. Not a lens fault as I was manually guessing focus based on distance. Anyway here's a better frame

I have a 35mm art but has focus problems.. do you recommend the 35mm L (version 1) over the 35mm art? Or should I get the dock? Would it solve my lens focus problems?.. Other lens I was thinking of is the 50mm L 1.2... is it worth? Or should I stick with this art lens?

Get the dock for sure, it takes some work but should fix your focus issues.
