I edited out a chainlink fence in the background of this photo, for a friend whose dog just passed away (they want to frame it). I didn't take the photo, so I am editing off of a JPEG. The first image is the "original". Do you think it looks better as-is, or cropped? Any other suggestions for how to best edit this would be appreciated!

Very similar crops, I can't say that I prefer one over the other. Only things I can immediately think of is to try to tone down some of the highlights on the bush, and maybe brighten the eye of the dog with a clarity boost in Lightroom.

This creature is absolutely gorgeous. Too bad this photo does not capture the full body. I would crop the photo to make him/her the center of attention by removing unnecessary foliage around the dog. Here is what I am thinking . . .

Isn't this where we brag about our gear? I have a super hot wife, a really cool dog, lots of bikes, oh and some overly expensive camera gear.

I find the building distracting and would clone it out and then crop. This is my version. It would probably be better with the right bottom corner and the area above his back (looks like a shadow) cloned to match the bushes too.

Or perhaps more of a head shot?

Just a thought.
