Recently my wife and I toured some caverns in Bermuda. These caverns have been in formation for many thousands of years. During the ice ages, the sea level was much lower than it is now, and the stalactites formed then became immersed in the sea when the ice melted. These photos show what it looks like today, an awesome place of natural beauty.
