I'm seeing these two different models on their site, but I can only find the Ranger Quadra anywhere else. What is the difference between the two?

As far as I can tell, the difference is, wait for it, the transfers

Hybrid uses Lithium or Lead Acid batteries. It must have a charging device or circuit to accommodate this. And the transfers are different.

The descriptions/specs on the site are identical, word for word (with the exception of the model name).

There are some of the older models who will not work properly with lithium, there was a post about which serial numbers would and which wouldn't work.

To prevent confusion, they added the naming convention to make it easier to tell that newer models would fact work. Older models would have to be checked via their serial, and i believe there may be a service change possible to them for a fee? I'm not sure of the last part though, so don't quote me.

It might of even been the heads... Like i said theres a fair amount of confusion involved.

+1

here is more info on Quadra heads that won't work with Lithium batteries. http://www.profot.de …tories/RQ-Li-IonChart.pdf (external link) Its in German, but that shouldn't be a problem as all you need are the numbers. :)

Hi guy's, I've bought a Quadra kit recently and had the same question for the importer here in the Netherlands. He told me the only difference is the battery level indicator on top of the generator. In the hybrid version it is accurate for both lit-ion as for lead batteries. The non-hybrid was calibrated for lead batteries only. An accurate battery level of the lit-ion batteries can be obtained from the level indictor on the lit-ion battery itself. I bought the non hybrid version as this kit was on sale ;)

Regards,
Rene.
