Great models, astonishingly effectful color composition.

I'm sorry but these are way over done for my taste. She looks very fake, like she's made of an inorganic material. In fact, #2 looks a little like what you might see in a casket.

Truly I don't mean to offend you but these just don't do it for me.

But as the saying goes.....beauty is in the eye of the beholder.

thanks for your opinion... with beauty shots, the focus is the make up, not the model. And the skin has to look perfect. Look at any fashion magazine. When i shoot weddings, I would never process it like this. But as you said, beauty is in the eye of the beholder

As far as PP goes, I love the look of the second one. My only critique would be (if you are using photoshop), to tone down the long thin highlight on her nose by: making a solid color fill layer, selecting a color (with the eyedropper) just outside the highlight area, and painting over it in a darken blend mode. It will just even out the light spots on her face. Other than that, I think it's perfect.

These are good but I do think that the dodging on #1 is a little strong. Particularly on the face, the dodging is a little blown out. If you are using curves to dodge and burn I'd try turning the opacity down a little bit. Should be able to achieve a more realistic look while still looking like a beauty shot.

If you are intentionally going for that type of look as you said you were, then you did a great job. I personally would have not quite gone as far in post processing the images, but you did a great job nonetheless.

My sister, the professional baker and cake decorator once told me that my camera takes great pics. My reply was that I thought her oven baked great cakes.
