Ok, I'm embarrassed to ask this question, but I'll ask it anyway. I've been using editing software that came with my Sony laptop (the software is called PMB). I'd like to upgrade, but am a complete noob when it comes to knowledge of editing software. I know that LR4 would be a huge upgrade, but my question is do I need any other software to go with it? In other words, will I need to buy any other programs?

Thanks in advance for any replies. I know I could ask this in other forum sections, but I thought I'd "sneak" it in here. :)

No you dont. Recommend you ensure your computer meets the lightroom minimum specs as otherwise may run far too slow

Lucky you...! Outside the US Lightroom is a lot more expensive. When the new Photoshop comes out I'll need a friend in the States to purchase on my behalf. :p

Cheers

Anyone know any upgrade deals? Hate to blow $75 on LR4 upgrade from LR3 when it's only $80 for new users..

B&H has the upgrade listed at $69.99. The Newegg deal is as good a deal as I have seen for Lightroom today, and for $10 more than the upgrade, you never have to deal with complicated re-installs.

I got that. I just had to upgrade LR 3 for my 5diii files. Downloaded the 30 day trial of LR 4, but went ahead and bought this.

A side question. the download of LR 4 for the trial imported all photos there. Am I safe to remove LR 3?
Also I wont have to reinstall it right? Just enter the product key from the CD from new egg?
