Adobe Premiere can't read iPad footage

Hi all,

I recently tried importing stuff a 720p .mov file generated from my iPad by the app "8mm" into a 720p/ 24p timeline with Canon DSLR footage.

Problem: I can hear audio, but video is just a flat green image. The odd thing is I have successfully imported a video file from the app ONCE into adobe premiere. It still works.

Since I successfully imported the video, on the oftware side, 8mm has not been updated since I owned it. Only iOS6 changed. Maybe that's why?

I use Adobe Premiere Pro CS 5.5. Anyone else have this problem with any other kind of footage?

Thanks!

I recall seeing a similar issue elsewhere with an update to iOS6. Sounds like a fix isn't out yet, but looks like a downgrade of Quicktime fixed one person's issue:

Joel, I searched the web for several hours and did not run into that. I owe you one!

Basically, something screwed up is going on between iOS6's codec, Quicktime's ability to read that codec, and possibly Windows 7 64-bit.

The solution on the forum was to install Quicktime 7.6, and everything works again!

No worried, glad to hear it's working again! :)

Poor form on Apple's part though...

Yet again Apple thinks the only hardware and software on the planet is made by them. :-(
