I`m going to Las Vegas next week. i really want to take decent pictures so I need some tips an sugestions about what would it be the things I should take in consideration.

See, my concern is how can I achieve a nice capture of all the lights. I only have the kit lens, what creative mode is most suitable for those night shots? in my opinion I must use a tripod as well. Anything you can add on to make my coming experience more pleaseant will be totally apreciated:D .

Yep, if you intend to shoot night shots, a tripod is required. And, a remote release is helpful. Setup where people aren't likely to walk in fron of you, if that's possible. You might consider bracketing shots, say over a 2 stop range. That will give you the opportunity to blend shots at different exposures where the dynamic range is more than you can handle in one shot. Dancing waters at Bellagio might make an interesting shot, in daylight or possibly night.

Try is shooting in the "M" Mode. Your gonna want a tripod because you probly will have to use a long exposure. Also a remote release would be good to have also so you dont need to touch your camera.

If you have the time, get a rental car and go on a day long road trip out by Lake Meade. I've done the Henderson-Lake Meade N/P. up to Overton , then through a state park (whose name I forget) before and it's pretty impressive. It takes a day if you take your time.

I run out of time to get the remote release , but I`m planing to use the self timer, of course i will have to wait those 10 sec.

If you enable mirror lockup on your 350D, you'll have less time to wait, only two seconds. Mirror lockup is enabled with custom function 7 on the 350D. Cut out those eight seconds! :D

Have a good trip.

Valley of Fire.

If I were you...I would at least get the 50mm 1.8..pretty inexspensive.. and you will come away much more happier... If you want to take a side trip, take Charleston Blvd out to Red Rock...stunning stuff.

Good luck, spend your money freely...we love it... ;)

p.s. - If you are in the need for gear while you are here...go to Casey's Camera, or Sahara Camera...DO NOT BUY ON THE STRIP>>>!
