Thought I would create a new thread for the new Tamron, this Lens has me curious vs. the Canon 70-200 IS Mk II. So need a place for pictures.

Photonews.ca has a review (external link) with some 100% sample shots. Pretty glowing review, and the sample shots look good. I've been pretty well set on picking up the Canon 70-200 to round out my lens set, but the Tamron is looking nice. Will be interesting to see what others think.

Thanks for the link. Just got a 5D Mk III and interested in this lens or the Sigma 70-200mm f/2.8 APO EX DG HSM OS.
Keep it coming;)

Well Adorama and BH both have them in stock. Who's going to be our 1st risk taker purchaser to honor the thread?

"Main rivals : Canon EF 70-300mm f/4.5-5.6 DO IS USM and Canon EF 70-300mm f/4-5.6 L IS USM"

Huh?? ???

It doe's look good at 200mm. Was there a problem? (back or front focus?)
