Not sure why, but call me JJ.

Happy Belated Canada Day, Jim (and reviving this old thread....)

Well, thanks Harm. :)

This is funny finding this post, less than an hour after you post, and the first time on the site in almost a week. :)

I have gone canoeing with Dave, but never did meet Chris. This was about 10 years ago.

Well, this one was almost 2 months, and not sure it can be classified as a 'kill save', if the killer and saviour are one in the same.

Surprisingly, I have not met Chris. He spends a lot of time here, especially now that he's retired. A couple of my friends have performed with him and I wasn't able to make it to the event. I'm sure I'll meet him at some point.

I would sure like to. Dave is a super friendly, nice guy. He used to be quite active on a canoeing forum I peruse, but not so much lately.

Chris is the same way. This community absolutely loves him.

I do not like crowds or lineups, so I tend to stay away from 'events'.

Exactly!

Drove into town to see the fireworks Tuesday night. Parked within a few blocks of where we were meeting up with others and walked in. The place is always packed full. Leaving is no fun at all. At one intersection it took 5 stoplight cycles to get through. Light would turn green and the lead vehicle would just creep through, only two vehicles would get through before the lights changed again. After I finally got through, the vehicle in front of me drove down the street at a leisurely speed of 35 km/h, the speed limit is 50, and there were no pedestrians in that area. Drives me nuts!

Small town issues when the car in front does 35 in a 50 zone...

Well, I'm used to travelling at higher speeds for the majority of my driving. The paved roads, outside of town, are usually posted at 80 or 90 km/h. Most people drive at 10 to 15 km/h over the limit on these roads. Gravel roads rarely have posted limits. Depending on the condition of the road, I'll be anywhere from 80 to 120 km/h.
I am also used to not stopping very often. I can get to the city, 30 kms away, and only have to stop 3 times.

Melody now holds the record for the longest kill. I'm sure Harm will want to get in on the act.
