I'm no expert, but I think if you went too much tighter and lost the distant hillside, you'd lose a lot of the feel of the picture. The distant hill really makes the tracks that much more interesting IMHO, because it shows where they are going through.

With some white balance adjustment and a play with curves and vibrance, I think you can make the scene look more interesting.
