Would like to see some joy on the part of the husband. He looks like she dragged him kicking and screaming to the shoot.

Would have shot or cropped in portrait. All appear a tad OE on a calibrated monitor. Nice subject and composure. JMHO.

nice :D really dig the tones from the set. also, did you use an off camera flash or a reflector to light their faces on the 3rd shot?

Thanks for the feedback everyone! I really feel like I couldn't have made images like this without the knowledge shared here on this forum.

@russ71satellite Knowing the guy in the picture and that he wasn't super expressive, I posed him to look strong, almost badass. Guys ultimately want to look cool, even in lovey dubby photos. We have a few that we shot where he was smiling, but they are definitely lower in volume for this shoot.

@Dano_nav Maybe it's late and I'm not getting it, but what is OE? I have a few images we shot in portrait orientations but I didn't see any that were knock your socks off amazing. Hopefully next time though! :)

@picsbyamanda Thanks!I've received a 50/50 mix of opinions on the tones I used in the images, but they were really happy with it and thought it made the images look more commercial. I used 1 Alien Bee B1600 with a Photek Softlighter to light all of the pictures shown above. It was my first time using that on location and I'm super happy with the results.

Over exposed = OE. Keep shooting...that's what I do...think you'll find in the end, you'll be your harshest critic. You've got great artistic instincts...

Thanks folks. I agree with both of you, but even I miss things sometimes. It's good to get a different perspective just so you can have it in mind for the next shoot. It's the only way to get better! :)
