Considering the latest additions in the Canon range and prices dropping for the mark 2 do you guys think this is the big moment for buying one? I have a 50d and a 5d that I might sell both good in their own way but temptation to get mark 2 is too strong:lol:

I'd wait for the 6d prices to come down from early release, that should put pressure on the 5dm2 prices, but that might be offset from the price drop you get on the boides you want to sell

I sold my 7000 clicks 60D for a very good price after I got infected by the FF bug. Now stuck between wait and see game.

Why wait. Just go for it. It's a steal at current prices.

My magic 8 ball says in 6 months there will be deals for a 5d2 for $1199 (there will be a $1099 deal but it will sell out so fast only the few lucky will catch it)
;)

Yes!!!

I pulled the trigger on a brand new 5d2 for the price people are selling used ones. Very happy with my purchase and wasn't going to wait for the 6D. Truth be told if the 6D would've been out now I still would have picked the 5d2 over the 6d, but that's just me.

I say buy new while you still can.

I am buying one, add another body to compliment my 7D. I'm also infected with this FF virus and I don't if there's antidote to this lol :)

There's no antidote my friend, I was bitten my that same bug and the only cure for me was to get full frame. It's been one of the best purchases I've ever made.

My poor 60D is collecting dust nowadays. Such a nice camera to be sitting there losing value. I just don't want to go through the hassle of trying to sell it and get lowball offers so I'll keep it.

The price might drop tomorrow for cyber Monday or you can play the waiting game with the release of the 6D. But I'd say go ahead and pick it up, it's already at a great price!

That's if they keep the 5d2 in the lineup. If the 5d2 is what one wants, then now is a great time to buy.

"Now" is not a bad time for the 5d2, if you're in the UK and are looking to buy used there's for example http://www.mpbphotographic.co.uk (external link) who seems to have no less than 19 used ones on their hands, or they may have messed up their used stock list ;-)a ...

I watched one go on ebay UK yesterday for £860 and I was a finger twitch away from putting in a bid seconds before the listing ended...

Back in Sept. Best buy had them on sale for $1600.00 and I had like 150 reward points so that brought it down for me for under $1500.00. After tax I spent a little over 1500.00 for it. Now they're 1799.00 I think at bestbuy which is still a great buy.

I see them selling brand new on ebay for $1500.00 all the time. If you check ebay's daily deals you've be surprised what amazing deals they have on new camera equipment.

I would have bought my 5d2 from ebay but it was listed then for 1800.00 so I bought locally and unfortunately ate the tax hit. Last year I bought my 60D brand new from ebay with the canon waranty from an authorized dealer. I'm a faithful ebay/amazon shopper. All of my lenses were purchased brand new with canon warranties from either ebay or amazon.

Ive only bought 3 cameras from bestbuy the sony alpha a200, T2i and 5D2 only because I wanted to use my reward points.

I never buy used cameras or lenses EVER but hey that's just me. I rather pay more for a warranty, a return policy and not having to worry if the previous owner was a self titled "PRO" and shot like a gazillion pictures with the camera. I chose to pay a bit more just to have a piece of mind.

I say pull the trigger now while you can still get it new. The 5d2 has a proven track record where the verdict is still out on the 6D.
