Hi everyone -

It's been a while since I shared any images, mostly because things are busy at our house with two kids under 15 months! But, I snuck out this morning to catch the sunrise down by the lake. The sunrise itself was rather un-eventful due to some heavy cloud cover but I liked these anyway.

As always, comments and critique are welcome and encouraged.

Thanks!

I guess you've shown we can get opportunities in winter. Very nice.

Great shots. We saw our first real snows of the season on the Keweenaw this weekend as well. Thursday evening the kids were playing out side in light sweatshirts and by Friday morning we were under winter storm warnings. Thanks for sharing.

Thanks everyone!

NCSA, I actually prefer photography in the winter and fall months over any other time of year. Fall has the obvious benefit of the colors, but winter is probably even better because the snow and ice add so much interest - most photographers stay at home when it gets painfully cold so it's a side many people don't see. Plus, sunrise is so much later I can get much further away from my house without having to set my alarm for 3AM and still be ready before sunrise. Of course, if it's cold and blustery that means Ill have the spot to myself too!

Yep, we had the same weather here - it was so odd. But, I'm probably one of the few that's hoping winter is here to stay...we were shortchanged last year. I'm looking forward to blizzards, ice, snow, ice fishing and snowmobiling!

Thanks everyone! Since I'm off work through tomorrow, I decided to head out again this morning. Here's one more I figured I'd add to this thread rather than starting a new one.
