Maisie passed another dance exam a few weeks ago and the awards ceremony was today. I thought I'd mark the moment using a photograph from earlier in the year, composited into a studio background.

It's fixed. I think it's a bit much on the high key. I have to tilt my laptop screen backwards to actually see what is going on there. Maybe tone it down a bit, or mess with the contrast?

Thanks Sam.

It is high key but reproduces well on my monitor. Lightroom shows that the only loss of detail in the highlights is the specular reflections on the sequin on the front of her dress and on some of the finer parts of the window frames. My intention is to have this printed though so I may well have to bring the highlights down so that they're not lost on paper.

Thanks again.

Don't get me wrong, I absolutely love high key. It's just hard when you can't distinguish lines when it's so high key.

As a matter of fact, I just checked it on my iMac, the computer I edit with, and it's much much better. Must just be the laptop screen. Great work

Understood Sam. Sorry, I wasn't trying to be defensive, and your comment has indeed made me think to check the highlights again when I come to print it.

Thanks again, I do genuinely appreciate all thoughts that people take the time to give me.

Cheers.
