Taken the other morning while breakfast was being made. Got out the 50 1.8 that I got for Christmas to try out since there was some rare natural light coming into the kitchen. Comments welcome.

A little too much shadow on her lower nose area I think. Maybe if she was positioned facing a little to her right, then it might have softened the shadow a bit. I like the way she posed on those 3 pics. Looks like a future model in the making. TGL

I got a very similar pressie this year - the 85mm f/1.8. Been playing about with it - mainly to work out what the biggest aperture I can use, and still have a slight margin for error in focussing on my fast moving 20 month old son D7100, 50mm f/1.8, 18-140mm f/3.5-5.6, 70-300mm f/3.5-5.6 VR, SB800
