The cemetery I was at, didn't have a lot of old tombstones but these may have been the oldest, they were from the early 1900s. These were my first. Not sure I really like them but I was just experimenting with my new camera, at the cemetery up the street from my boyfriends house

Cemeteries still give me the willies, so I made him come with me haha. So I couldn't really take me time, that it was freezing, and I was just pointing and shooting. But as much as they scare me, they fascinate me too. And I like the older the better, so I think I need to go somewhere else to get some older ones.

Sepia

B&W

I don't like how those newer graves are in the picture, there were just some random old headstones throughout the cemetery. And its very very small, so thats pretty much all I had to work with.

Interesting shots, I think I like the B&W better than the sepia. I love taking photos in cemeteries, some of the headstones are like huge sculptures.

I have to agree-- some sculpture I've seen in cemetaries comes close to rivaling the masters I viewed in europe.
They are peaceful and sometimes very beautiful places to spend some time. Modern cemetaries I find rather bland and depressing. nothing to give honor to those who have passed.

I prefer the b/w as well

Thanks. Yeah thats what I meant by "older" cemeteries. The newer ones that are just row after row of the same style of headstones really does nothing for me, like wu said...its kinda depressing. I am more fascinated by the older, unique styles. I would love to find some sculpture type things, I think I need to go to Allegheny Cemetery for those...but I guess I can still practice at this one up the street.
