I am trying to find out whether the camera's external flash control menus can set a Manual output level (set in the Firing Group section) when the flash is mounted straight on the camera. And, whether it can be done when the YN622s are in the line.

Any tests would be appreciared.

Clive: I must have my particularly dim head on this morning. This seems such a basic question that I can only assume I'm misunderstanding somehow.

Do you literally mean nothing more than "Can I put a YN-565EX on the camera hotshoe and then use the Camera External Flash Menu to set manual power"? As a supplementary, do you also mean "Can I put a YN-622C in the camera hotshoe and use the Camera External Flash Menu to set Manual Power on a remote YN-565EX on top of a YN-622C trigger?

I'm positive that I'm completely misunderstanding what you are asking. Care to clarify for the even-more-stupid-than-usual on this side of the globe?

the above video is in chinese but you can see that it's able to adjust the settings needed in the camera screen.

Clive,
Yes you can set the manual flash power on a YN565 via the camera external flash menu when it is mounted in the hotshoe. From a practical standpoint I never do it this way, but I just tested it for you.

Yes you can set and change the manual flash power on a YN565 via the cameral external flash menu when using YN622 triggers.
