I enjoy this lens for portraits. I used it recently for youth football...

Great work on here fellas :) I was thinking about getting a 16-35mm f/4 as a replacement for my 17-40mm until I dusted it off last week and realised that its an excellent lens and I'd gain very little by upgrading. So I've treated myself to a new Sigma 50mm instead :)

I switched from the 17-40 to the 16-35 as I got such a good price on a new one it was hard to pass by. The IS is what swung it for me. I do a lot of hill walking/hiking here and set off before sunrise a lot. Im hoping the IS will allow me to catch certain shots handheld that I would normally have to have got the tripod out for. The less im carrying the better. I loved the 17-40 though. The one that im about to sell is my 3rd one ive owned.

17-40 on the way, my kit lenses and 40D are being sold to pay for it. Finally, a wide zoom I can use on my crop or 5D.

Nice shot Heri. You did a pretty good job of not letting the towers get too messed up, which usually happens on tall towers. I really love the way the colors stand out in the towers themselves.

This was a shot from last year, and with the weather turning to bitter cold, I figured it was a good time to show it.

2Slo, thanks for the compliment.
How long is that pier? It seems to go on forever to the right of the frame. Great use of a foreground subject as well.
