Nice Mark. I had it in my head that it was a pier that was in need of repairs so it was cut off from the land on the left of the photo. Being a pipe support makes much more sense.
I can only imagine all of the fun you could have with it photographically.

If shooting nighttime city building like dtla is a filter needed for get sharper image im shooting I a 6d with no filter and I can't seem to get the building lights sharp they come out with a flare to them fuzziness I use 10x in love view to focus on a night in the window then manually adjust if needed then shoot on a tripod using the self timer 10s method
